A law increasing VAT up to 20% has been adopted and new social insurance contribution rates have been approved

The State Duma adopted on July 24, 2018 a law increasing VAT from 18% to 20% and setting new rates for social insurance contributions. These changes will enter into force on January 19, 2019. In this article, we indicate which VAT rates will become effective on January 01, 2019, outline the changes that will affect foreign companies and report on the new social insurance contribution rates.

Changes in Migration Law from July 8, 2018

Please be informed that on July 8, 2018, Federal law No. 163-FZ of 27.06.2018 changed the process of migration registration of foreign citizens. The law redefines the concept of "Receiving party" and "Place of residence".

Request of personal data processing notification from Roskomnadzor

Roskomnadzor requires all legal entities and individual entrepreneurs to submit notices of personal data processing prior to processing such data. Failure to do so will be subject to fines of up to RUB 75,000 for each violation.

Central Eastern Europe Benchmarking Survey

This survey findings stating that the CEE region is one of the best performing in the world, but challenges remain, of course. Some 90% of executives are optimistic or very optimistic about the regional outlook. 73% of companies plan to expand their operations in the CEE region in 2018-19 and 37% will invest in manufacturing in 2018-19.
